Highlights of the 19th Flickerfest International Short Film Festival were screened at the Kempsey Bandbox Theatre over the last 2 nights. First night favourites included the 2min animation 'KJFG No. 5' from Hungary, 'Six Dollar Fifty Man' from New Zealand and the opulent feasting (imagine whole roast Rhino and Deer with carving knives stuck through their backs) in the Canadian 'Next Floor'. The second night gave us the beautiful Australian animation 'The Cat Piano', the cringe-worthy comedy of 'Las Pelotas' from Switzerland and the French 'Citizen Vs Kane' appealing to the 'Weekend at Bernie's' fans.
However special mention must be made to the interval supper lovingly provided by the Macleay Valley Arts Council. Fresh fruit, dips, cheese and cake followed by a lucky door prize chocolate bar draw! You don't get that in the city :)
