Cake Vs. Pie

Cake or pie? This can be considered one of the most difficult dessert choices to make, up there with milk or dark chocolate, bagel or doughnut and hotcake vs crepe.
Will it be a flaky shortcrust pastry with a warm, sweet filling topped with whipped cream, or a rich and moist cake iced with a heap of fresh buttery frosting? (Lets not forget piles of sprinkles!)
I stumbled on this clever tournament on Jezebel which pits everyone's favourite baked goods against each other throughout March in order to determine the most popular sweet.
Cake Vs. Pie
Head on over to choose your favourite from this weeks competitors, Birthday Cake vs. Fruitcake, and Apple Pie Vs. Grasshopper Pie.
Personally I sit on the fence and don't side with either team, Cake or Pie, yes it is a cop out, but I don't like to limit my choices of bakery items. I am equally cheering for Cherry or Banana Cream Pies and Ice Cream or Birthday Cakes (which to me means a nice golden butter cake with a butter frosting and a heap of lolly decorations).
May the best wedge win!
